A can won't give you any bother with warranty. There are plenty of new bikes being sold with that kind of extra thrown in to sweeten a sale.Taipan wrote: Wed Jan 28, 2026 11:08 am Just remembered, the bike is a brand spanker and has a warranty, etc. So I'm not even sure I can put one on? I certainly wont be in a hurry to fit an end can but will check with the Sales guy when I collect the bike.

Or just put the stock one back on if you need to make a warranty claim.

TBH its not a great sounding engine with a can on anyway! I'm just a tart!
Probably better to think about adjusting the seat to peg height issue I know I'll be facing!

Re: NBT I've just bought my forever bike part4 , The Final Edition!
Sales guy rang with an update yesterday. The bike is pretty much done but they're still waiting on the centre stand, which is due next week. I suppose I could take it and then get the stand fitted at a later date, but as i'm probably going to be off work next week as well now, I may as well wait for it to be finished completely.
I'm over getting rid of the AT now, and even though this was just a sensible purchase, i'm starting to look forward to getting the bike now!

I think it'd be easier to hire them. Save messing about with swapping insurance and DVLA, just hire a bike for 4 weeks each time.v8-powered wrote: Wed Jan 28, 2026 4:54 pmI'll start at 2 weeks......Taipan wrote: Wed Jan 28, 2026 2:28 pm Probably better to think about adjusting the seat to peg height issue I know I'll be facing!![]()

No. This one is a long termer! When I sold the last one I knew there’d be another as they are about 95% perfect for my commute. The only fly in the ointment is Honda lowered the seat haughty by 30mm on the latest model. But a lot of owners but adjustable foot pegs onto to counter it. All the other issues are addressed by fitting the comfort pack which I’ve added. So this could easily still be here as far off as September!

Depends really. I've been a serial swapper before and 5 months was a lifetime back in those days.

I hate bike admin, I have to make sure the 3 cars in our household are taxed, serviced, MOT and insured as it is. Adding more than bike on to that and things end up getting missed.
The Himmy was ridden without MOT for 3 months last year because I got dates mixed up between the bikes
Constantly swapping and I'd be in a world of

It's the private selling that's the ball ache these days, PX is a pop.

Many years ago I was a car trader, so i'm kinda used to (hopefully) swapping stock with some sort of regularity. I was probably changing cars as much at one point, but i've stopped that now and slowed up on the bikes too.tricol wrote: Sun Feb 01, 2026 8:55 pm Don't know how you can bothered with the faff of swapping bikes so often.

I pay my tax monthly and it just auto renews. My garage sends out an email when the MOT is coming up and the Insurance start to phone me a good month before renewal.Ditchfinder wrote: Sun Feb 01, 2026 9:36 pm I hate bike admin, I have to make sure the 3 cars in our household are taxed, serviced, MOT and insured as it is. You could also set dates in Google calendar and get an email weeks before as well an an Alert on your phone.

For me,the worst part of swapping around bikes is dealing with insurance, they're a bunch of bandits
