Bought this last year to be fair, in advance of getting a new cat.

Old cat was a proper hunter, and many partially dissected voles were deposited for our pleasure, so t'other half made this a condition of getting a new cat.

Then our dog decided to have a mini stroke and we decided that a new cat might not be the best thing for him.

This year, Fidget the random stray cat appeared, so we installed it. Being a stray she's a fucking epic hunter, she brought back four small dead furry things last Sunday alone.

Two days ago she finally worked out how to use a cat flap, so now this means she has to leave her victims outside

Well, the Temu cordless power washer has arrived. I charged the batteries and tested on a push bike. It has 2 different nozzles, spray and jet you might call it.

It does clean but like all pressure washers without soap, it dries and looks no better ( tested on wife's car ).It's not too powerful which is what I wanted and you just chuck the hose filter end in a bucket of water butt water, one of those 20L containers would be ideal, just like the one I threw out a few weeks back.

Further testing required to confirm I've bought a load of shit off Temu, again.

Update... used this a few times now and it's actually pretty good. The monkey's getting very dirty on the roads it takes me on, but this thing makes cleaning easy. 2 buckets of greenhouse water is all it takes. First blast to get the shit off, then I spray some magic cleaner on, a bit of toothbrush work on the fins then rinse again. 1 or 2 missed bits that get done last.

Overall a happy purchase.

Well they were supposed to be Global knives, but I reckon the wife would kill those in 5 minutes flat so bog basic average blades that I'll not get worked up about instead

The small paring & utility knife are too small to be of much use, but the mahosive 20cm chef and slicing knives are long enough to be used in a fencing match and neither has a nice deep blade.

I need something with a deep blade and around 15ish cms long that do me as a jack of all trades knife, back to the rabbit hole that is google

No, ProCook because I don't rate their own brand stuff, but they do have a shop in Hereford, so might pop in and see what other brands they have.

ProCook are advertising Chinese made knives as 'Japanese style' at the moment, which is upsetting some true Japanese knife vendors.

No, ProCook because I don't rate their own brand stuff, but they do have a shop in Hereford, so might pop in and see what other brands they have.

I have a very often used Kitchen Devils 'Professional' knife that sounds pretty much like it meets your spec but it's over 20 years old and, googling, they appear to have been taken over by Fiskars (who do make some decent stuff) and it appears the 'Professional' range is no more and the 'Lifestyle' and 'Control' stuff looks pretty cheap and cheerful.

(Half my knives are old KDs, most of the rest are German with the odd Lakeland Santoku and paring knife thrown in).

There's been a recent R4 'Sliced Bread' prog about knives and the materials they're made from that I was encouraged to listen too (having been a materials scientist once upon a time). Apparently they liked 'Damascus steel'.

I'll see if I've got the link for anyone that might be interested.

Edit: Ah, here y'go. Kitchen knives and sharpeners.

Been using some perfectly serviceable stuff that I bought from Sainsbury's on a whim years ago, but the coating is starting to get sharp in places, and a fork went AWOL a while back.

Was going to treat myself to some Viners or similar, but ended up liking this set from Denby more than anything else around:
