The short front & rear mudguards fitted to modern bikes designed to be ridden on UK roads baffles me.Do the designers think that we live in a arid climate,or don't they think we ride in the rain? I fitted front mudguard extenders to both my SV650's plus a longer carbon fibre front mudguard to the Street Triple, I also fitted a rear hugger to the SV650S & a export spec rear dust guard to the Street Triple.At least your Monkey bike looks like it's got a rear mudguard

I have put a tail tidy on it but the front high level mudguard protects nothing. I think it's designed like that to make it look brilliant.

482 on the clock and first service booked for next thursday. Very happy with fender extender. Had to adjust gear lever coz I'm wearing massive boots atm.

First service done, in Shrewsbury not Chester. Told them the chains are shite, needs slack taking out almost after every ride and it's got a tight spot already. They are a lightweight chain and none O ring, more like a pushbike chain. ( none O ring ).

On forums everyone changes to a more heavy duty O ring type, so they've ordered me one and they'll fit it, no need for new sprockets, same fit. It's pretty shit from Honda in all honesty, 9.2 hp is stretching chains, htf does that work.

Also been told, being none Oring they need a oily lube and not a wax type as it needs to penetrate better. I use wax.

Had a look at their bikes, Honda centre, and asked what the big lump is on the side of the engine, 650 I think, E clutch. Its not dct, it has clutch and gear lever but you don't need to use clutch, but it's not like a QS, says you can stop without clutch aswel. Your all up to date.

On another note,both my H1s use non O ring chains and split links.

Doesn't a properly lubed non-oring chain transfer more power than an o-ring cos they're lighter?

The only advantage an o-ring has is that it holds onto the lube longer (Cos it's trapped by the o-rings)?

Lots of race bikes use chains without o-rings.

In BSB Jamie Whitham raced small chain which managed just 1 race.
Gained a tiny bit of power .

It's a good advantage though, O ring. It's a well-known fault with the monkeys, but stretching every 100 mile is a piss take. 9.2 hp and 104kg might equate 150 hp maybe.
