Far Eastern Bike Tours?

Post by Yorick »

Thinking about a 10 day bike tour somewhere over that side of the planet.
Spent a lot of time in India and Nepal but no problems going back

Any other countries highly recommended ?

Any good companies?

Minimum need airport pick-up and all bike and hotels organised. Preferably all meals chucked in

Waddya got ?

I've seen lots of adverts in the back of bike mags for Thai Enduro/off-road tours.

My mate did a bike trip on small trail bikes in Peru, but that's kind of far west :)

He was planning an India trip for towards the end of April last time I spoke to him.

Always fancied Sri Lanka myself. The roads are supposed to be perfect.
Karma Yatri, who I and another from here have used for Nepal, run a trip there.

You've just missed out on this years tour to India, but maybe try here https://www.dorothysspeedshop.com/
I'm sure there's a lot of potential in Thailand/Vietnam/Nepal,it just depends on what type of riding you want to do.
This bloke puts up some inspiring posts from Nepal https://www.advrider.com/f/threads/uppe ... s.1614211/
Myself,in my backpacking days I rented a moped for a few days on Bali,it was a hoot, good memories.

Did a tour a few years ago in Luang Prabang, Laos, around the Vietnam and China borders. Great trip through the mountains villages seeing the hill tribes. About 70% off road/30% on road, 1000km in 4/5 days. Food and accomodation included, with these guys https://offroadlaos.com/

Another vote for Vietnam's central highlands. Haven't done it, but looked into it and it looks ace. People are proper friendly, beer is cheap and it's 'ot.

You go, and if you survive we can all look to do it.
