Sportsbikeshop have a variety of “CarPlay” type on bar displays
Has anyone used one, and are they any good ?

Re: Has anyone used a handlebar mounted smart screen
I googled the Carpuride after I saw one included on a bike listing on Friendface.
I liked the idea, but for the bikes I have... The phone mount that fits in the satnag cradle on my GS does all the same stuff, just on my phone and it would look very silly mounted on my Gold Star (which is why I'm looking at a Bee Line II instead).

I have a BeelIne 2 - but just sorting out a trip to the Eifel in July, I don’t want to rely on an iPhone on a Quadlock as I have already wrecked one iPhone.KungFooBob wrote: Tue Mar 24, 2026 8:35 pm I googled the Carpuride after I saw one included on a bike listing on Friendface.

I only got my Beeline last year as a replacement for a Beeline 1 that failed twice

That Garmin is still sitting around doing nothing if you want to give it a go. Will need maps updating as it hasn't been used for a while.Mr Moofo wrote: Tue Mar 24, 2026 9:04 pmI have a BeelIne 2 - but just sorting out a trip to the Eifel in July, I don’t want to rely on an iPhone on a Quadlock as I have already wrecked one iPhone.KungFooBob wrote: Tue Mar 24, 2026 8:35 pm I googled the Carpuride after I saw one included on a bike listing on Friendface.

The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'.

Would a cheap smart phone work, I've got a Nokia that I use for work that cost about £50 from Amazon, it does all the smart phone stuff an expensive phone does, but slower.Mr Moofo wrote: Tue Mar 24, 2026 9:04 pmI have a BeelIne 2 - but just sorting out a trip to the Eifel in July, I don’t want to rely on an iPhone on a Quadlock as I have already wrecked one iPhone.KungFooBob wrote: Tue Mar 24, 2026 8:35 pm I googled the Carpuride after I saw one included on a bike listing on Friendface.

TBF, i have an old iphone that my wife smashed the back off. I could just use that on a quad lock mount and see what it does to the camera! Rather than swap sims you could hot spot to your normal phone in your pocket, if it needs data for maps/traffic.

Re: Has anyone used a handlebar mounted smart screen
Phones with mechanical zooms and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) systems can get damaged from the bikes vibration being passed through the solid Qadlock.
Quadlock now make an anti vibration mount to try and stop it happening.
Shake the phone near your ear, can you hear a rattle?
Then you've got a phone with OIS.

iphone 10 mounted on the bars for about 15-20 mins, completely knackered the camera focus etc. It was a known issue , Apple replaced the phone (they won’t these days). Discussions with Quadlock lead to them sending me the vibration mount for free. I have since bought the ebay version but am loathed to try it again.
The issue with phones and quad lock is big twin engine vibration - Triumph / Ducati/KTM all caused issues (Quadlock used to have a list of the bikes you need a vibration mount for). The vibration mount is meant to stop it.
Pragmatically , phone 1k , Beeline 200, GPS 300 ish …

He's got Carpuride, thinks it was about £120. Says you can get different ones with add ons like TPM and camera.
