A couple of weekends ago, I was bringing mini_morti for a fryup with a couple of friends. The journey covers "the coast road", which on a Sunday morning is effectively a race track, 70km/h limit or no. There are a few guys who stay at the side of the road taking pictures.

I reckon we were the slowest ones caught on film that day, but nonetheless caught we were.

Nothing particularly special about the place, but it was a 3.5 hour ride away, i somehow managed to avoid all the showers, and on the way back i got to ride some of my favourite roads in Oxfordshire in glorious sunshine. :D
Good to meet you mate, enjoy the new leathers!

I didn't think it was going to be as nice as it turned out today, so I didn't plan anything. I did manage a quick trip into Richmond to get my phone sorted out though.

This is actually a week late, but better late then never!

Saturday I got in the garage uncovered the Zuki and refitted the battery, dropped the tyre pressures and wheeled her out into the chilly sunshine. Hit the button and she fired first time :D Then she got put away as I had other stuff to do and a hangover to contend with.

Sunday I had planned on riding down to Brands to watch Tricky racing but the folks needed some help with some stuff so that went out the window. This did mean I missed the early morning mist and the worst of the chill as it was only about 5C. I eventually got out late afternoon and man was it good to be back on the bike again :banana-dance: I had no plan on where to go so firstly followed my nose until I needed to follow my bladder and a hot drink was in order so as I was close went to Finchingfield which as expected was busy even late on.

Image

I ended up doing just over 100 miles and very nice it was too.

Monday I was off work, so after dropping the kids at school I decided to pop out again. I waited a bit as it was cold early doors but decided on a lunch sarnie at Heybridge, followed by an Essex loop back to Hatfield Heath. Another 85 miles and a fresh tank of super E5, at near £1.60 a litre  Forgot to take a piccy until I got to Hatfield Heath. Won't apologise for the top box as it's bloody handy for extra layers/less layers, warm/cooler gloves as the day goes on.

Image

Checked the weather for the rest of the week and suspected it would happen, but Monday night taking my son to cadets this was in front of me at the level crossing :angry-cussingblack:

Image

Luckily they only gritted once and it rained yesterday so hopefully back out sometime this week.

I'll never have a bike without one again, and pretty much never take it off. Who wants to wear a rucksack, not have a backrest for their passenger, and carry their helmet and gloves around when they get where they're going, all for cool-points from people who in fact really don't care?

Yup, won't have a bike without one either. Way too handy, and I don't even notice it anymore.

That first mural made me smile,Japanese motorcycle parked in front of a mural featuring the British army & RAF in action!
Back in the day both my girlfriend & me rode Yamaha's,her Irish grandad used to shake his head, dissapointed,he was a formerJapanese POW..
It's still proper windy around here,I think it's the 3rd consecutive day,I'm hoping it's going to finally drop this evening.

Where are those 2?

And how did they manage to mount the pigeon? Is it on a stick?

After a proper windy 3 days with the occasional hail or rain to spice things up it finally calmed down this evening so I took the 650X for a spin.

Eh? I just use the helmet lock on the bike* & stuff my gloves inside the helmet.... or does that tempt the thieving scrotes in the UK etc?

*at least on the ZRX11 & ZX11... with the GPz11 the helmet would rest on the hot exhaust, so have to wait for that to cool down. The two GPz11's I had in the UK were used for dispatching so had top boxes... which I fucking detest.
