AI and the art of motocycle maintenance
AI and the art of motocycle maintenance
Well compressor actually. I have an old SGS compressor that I use rarely. Switched it on the other day and it kept blowing air out. I decided it was the switch / valve block which was only £10 from ebay so tried that - no improvement.
So in desperation I asked Claude (AI from Anthropic who I like as they won't help trump do illegal stuff).
Claude walked me through everything and between us we came up with the answer - which cost nothing, the way I like it.
The transcript is here for anyone interested:

Yeah, I use it all the time for car fault diagnosis stuff, surprisingly good, saves a lot of faffing. Also pretty accurate for looking up part numbers.

How does it fare with,"there's a noise coming from the front of my car"?

Re: AI and the art of motocycle maintenance
I've been agonising over an intractable problem with indicators on a bike I want to sell, and decided to give Claude AI a go. I wasn't expecting much, but the responses I got were far better than I could have imagined. It's opened up another avenue of diagnosis that I was completely unaware of, so full marks to Claude...

I was very sceptical originally but have been very impressed. Experiences will of course vary.....

I don't have a website to host it on, and not sure if I can just post a Word transcript of the conversation up here...? On second thoughts I'll just cut and paste the transcript into the thread that relates to the problem, and link here.
