Luckily for you, I’ve found that fourth pair you were after. Don’t be palmed off with anything less than these bad boys.

Had a visitor this afternoon :)

Heavy morning of physio and adaptive sports (actually mostly Abs exercises and then some spazzy table tennis), then a colleague came to visit and brought a box of goodies !!!

Image

He left in time for the psycologue to come see me - which is about all she did, just looked at me sympathetically and I didn't really know what to say - not exactly useful

At least I can console myself with strawberries and chocolate

I had asked the folks over the weekend to bring apples and clementines - so I now have a lot of fruit to share with the others, cos I am not gonna eat it fast enough!!!

Not sharing the kiwis, once they are ripe (had one this morning, NOT ripe!) they will be AWESOME !!!

Chocolate has had to go in the bedside table to be less accessible, and out of sight

Green hairy nadgers of Beelzebub himself. The fruit equivalent of Brussel sprouts.

On a similar note, I had to stop my twat-arse dog from licking about a dozen dog turds on this morning's walk. I appreciate that dogs are scavengers and they just see it a bit of bonus protein, but FFS, Syd's. :x

As the actress said to the bishop, give it a good rub to get all the hairs off before taking a bite.

When I was in NZ in 1986 a lot of supermarkets were just giving them away. Everybody was sick of them. Same with lamb chops. I remember we went to a BBQ and took lamb chops. Everybody laughed at us :D

Today in adaptive sports, we had a go at wheelchair badminton

Worth it for the laughs TBH, cos I don't laugh a lot in here but all three of us and the therapist were full on laughing (as with the table tennis the last couple of times!)

I've really not done racquet sports since the arm issue, had a brief go at left handed table tennis but that's it

So, table tennis here I use my left hand to lift my right that's holding the 'bat' ! Works fine cos of the table height etc

The badminton I tried that but it was such a wide range of movement that it didn't work, so then tried with the right on it's own, but hurt it a couple of times by trying to much!

So, back to the left hand - took a few goes to 'get my eye in' and then the competitive streak kicked in!!

I honestly had forgotten how competitive I used to be at things like that!! I used to play squash - not at a high level but damn I tried bloody hard! Used to win quite often, more from determination not to miss a shot and learning to be seriously sneaky!!

Always hated badminton because so often you hit the shuttle with a fair amount of force and it kind of just gently flies to the other side!

Today I learnt that actually, if you hit it just right, it doesn't half go quick!! I suspect Badminton will be my next favourite sport when I "get out"

:bblonde: :bblonde: :bblonde: :bblonde:

Still wish I could play squash, but been warned off that cos, well, I did have a habit of running into the walls to make sure I reached the shot!!
:angelic-green: :angelic-green:

It's been a good (if quiet) Friday! :obscene-drinkingcheers: :obscene-drinkingcheers: :obscene-drinkingcheers: :obscene-drinkingcheers:

Discovered Ideal Standard baths don't come with bath feet/legs, you have to buy them separately. That generic thermostatic shower valve blocks won't just bolt into where you had a Mira one fitted and you need a fitting kit thingy (easily purchased of Screwfix).

That if you over tighten a cheap shower valve block the stub pipes unscrew themselves from the valve block and it leaks like fuck.

That the two stop cocks that feed the shower pump only stop 98% of the flow.

I hate DIY, but being from Yorkshire I'm too tight to pay someone else to do it.

Just been quoted just shy of £20k to replace our en-suite - looks like I'll be doing it myself

I'm in the middle, I do the grunt work and then get a plumber to connect up the wet bits. Well worth the £100 or so in labour.

Busy day...

Disconnected the battery tender from the GPz11 & put it on the ZX11.
Got a green light on the tender after a while.

The trick cyclist probably looked at that haul and realised there was nothing she could say that would be effective.

(Which is remarkably self-aware of her, i have to say)

Sealed some of the DDR era homeopathic concrete in the shed. Lots of SBR slopped on and left to soak in.
