I just read that modern toilet paper was invented in 1857. However, it wasn't until the 1930s that "Splinter-Free" paper was developed. Until then the manufacturing process often included wood splinters in the paper. So I've just discovered my personal cut-off for time travel...

I was a Renault 18 man during the week, and the sporty Fuego was taken out at the weekend.
