Insurance renewal time...

Post by ZRX61 »

I have collector insurance on the GPz11, ZRX11, ZX11 & the F350, all on the same policy. Agreed value ($7500 each bike & $40k on the F350). Plus if anything happens to any of them I get to keep whats left without having to buy them back from the insurance company (I think they call it cherished salvage policy) Bikes each have a 1500 mile limit & 5000miles for the F350.
As I'm paying the premium for the next 12 months, starting June 1st, I notice they already have the premium increase listed for '27/'28. It's $81.
I call them a call & ask if the premium will decrease if I lower the bike miles to 1200 each as I'm now rotating three bikes instead of two.
I can hear the gals keyboard clicking away as she calculates the change, then she starts laughing.

Turns out the savings would be $81, she says "so you get to save $81 this year, but we get it back next year... consider it a loan"

Oops... was online just now & checked the mileage limit of the GPz11, it was 1000 miles, already slightly over that... bugger.

Changed it to 1500 miles...

Premium change: $0

WooT!!

I still need to add the GPz750, but that can wait until I get the title/registration paperwork sorted.

Title for the GPz750 showed up today... and I also got a check from the insurance company for $81. I guess I'll be handing some of that over to them for the GPz750.. altho tbf, when I added the GPz11 with the $7500 value it only added about $70 to my annual premium... and each bike you add the lower the added cost.
Probably go with a $2500-$3000 value on the 750 until it gets fresh paint.

Last years premium for the little Serow was £54 with Bennetts. This years quote is £107, they reduced it to £84 ish on a phone call, with the same excess as last year - £450.
Changed to CN - £74, but with £0 excess - zero compulsory, zero voluntary. How does that work? I’ve never had insurance with no excess! Is there a catch?
