It's a van. It looks like a van. What more do you need to know?

Well I didn't know it looked like a van, so now I feel informed! Thanks.

Van/people carrier, whatevs.
Looks like all the others to me, apart from it looks sort of 'eyeless'.

I saw one of those in Chi last weekend - at least I think it was one of those - it was all black and very quiet as it meandered around the car-park. I thought at the time that it looked odd - but at least it was "different" .Count Steer wrote: Thu May 14, 2026 1:23 pmVan/people carrier, whatevs.

TBH, if it fits a person's needs I'd say they don't need film star looks to sell them. The price will do that. Just looked at the price list and they're way under the VW version and probably competitive against some IC equivalents.Rockburner wrote: Fri May 15, 2026 4:46 pmI saw one of those in Chi last weekend - at least I think it was one of those - it was all black and very quiet as it meandered around the car-park. Re: Would you have an electric car if you had the money for a new car and were in the market for one?
I'm trying to dip my toe in the EV world and it's not getting off to a good start.
I look up dealers and the closest seems to be about 50 miles away, these things won't fit in my car boot so range anxiety for me is a round trip to the dealer. In fairness there's not a lot of ICE motorbike dealers here either, I put motorbike mechanic in Google maps and it returned a specialist orthopedic hospital, a dementia hospital and two accident repair centres. I never knew Google had such a good sense of humour.
Dealers aside there isn't much choice for anyone who wants to ride outside a big city, most of the 125 equivalents are low on power and top speed. The Zero LS1 looks good but that's about it, £4.5k with the nearest dealer 90 minutes away probably won't happen.

Just about any car is just a roof with a wheel at each corner, a van is just a bigger roof with a wheel on each corner.Count Steer wrote: Fri May 15, 2026 5:32 pmTBH, if it fits a person's needs I'd say they don't need film star looks to sell them. I guess some people buy em on looks but I can't say that its ever been my primary requirement.
Load space, price and number of cupholders being far higher up the scale for me.

My criteria were reliability, practicality and looks. Probably in that orderdemographic wrote: Sat May 16, 2026 10:03 pm Just about any car is just a roof with a wheel at each corner, a van is just a bigger roof with a wheel on each corner.

I've got a Mazda 6 estate. Life's too short to drive ugly cars.

Given it's where I spend most of the time, the inside of a vehicle is more important than the outside to me. It's nice if they lookdemographic wrote: Sat May 16, 2026 10:03 pmJust about any car is just a roof with a wheel at each corner, a van is just a bigger roof with a wheel on each corner.Count Steer wrote: Fri May 15, 2026 5:32 pmTBH, if it fits a person's needs I'd say they don't need film star looks to sell them. I'm an advocate of function and form though. Does something look like what it's suppose to do?

It's nice if they lookexternally but really it's other people that see that mostly and I really don't care if they think it looks marv or not.

Life with the milkfloat is far more enjoyable now that I have a proper home charger, the whole granny charger thing and taking forever to charge was causing me anxiety, even though I'm a low miles driver

I’ve had the Tesla for about 14 months now, and I’ve grown to like it and deffo appreciate the ridiculous cheapness of running one, but I’ve not grown to love it. So I think I’m going to go back to an ICE…

Traitor! I have little desire for an ICE unless something like Iccy's GT3RS but hard to justify that for 2 or 3 runs to the railway station each weekTaipan wrote: Tue May 19, 2026 2:39 pm I’ve had the Tesla for about 14 months now, and I’ve grown to like it and deffo appreciate the ridiculous cheapness of running one, but I’ve not grown to love it. I think my wife is even getting to like the idea of an EV too, but I knew she would anyway. That would be an SUV of some kind though.....
