Friday thread, the May BH heatwave.

Post by weeksy »

So apparently it's insanely warm for a few days.. Nice.

Started with a pub last night for food and a couple of pints.
Fri. WFH and a bicycle ride to pub. Wife and boy going away racing in Minehead, so i'm solo all weekend.
Sat. Watch some MTB racing on TV then head out for pub :D
Sun. Chilling really until they get home with my new bicycle
Mon. No plans, but may involve a MTB and a pub :D

I could not be happier :bblonde:

Friday: I haven't packed yet and I've lot on my to-didn't list.
Saturday: Off to west Britain on my own and on my bike. Staying in a quiet and fairly remote Airbnb and taking a book. They have donkeys.
Sunday: Sunday - Don't know but I have a few test routes to try
Monday - Don't know but I have a few test routes to try
Tuesday - Don't know but I have a few test routes to try
Wednesday - Don't know but I have a few test routes to try
Thursday - heading to Essex for a couple of nights
Saturday - tune in next Friday for the FT.

Sounds great!

As usual I haven't a clue. Still feeling with the trapped nerve in my shoulder, so it's not going to be much.

Same, I'm in an incredibly good mood 💃

Off work today, heading over to the Peak District for a long birthday weekender (not mine) with a bunch of people in a hall that we've hired.

I'm sending him, the dog, and the booze in the car, and I'm going over on my bike.

The rest of the weekend will involve walking, drinking, eating, chatting, catching a tan with any luck, and hopefully a few cheeky short bike runs, before heading home on Monday ☀️😊

Well, it's the start weekend of an extended period off for me. As you may or may not be aware I retired from a 25 yr career with the police last year. Went and got a job with the local authority, but this week I've finished there.

I do have another job to go to next month which should keep me busy, but for now I'm going to enjoy the next 4 weeks.

This weekend is chilling, sitting in the garden in the heat, maybe a jump in the hottub.

Enjoy all

Currently away in my campervan enjoying the Essex coast. So guzzling a few ciders and we’re having a bbq tonight.
Back home tomorrow with a few bits to do . Sunday hot people over for a bbq. Monday, less than the other days!

Cheers!

Mrs and mini Taffs are off in the MoHo to a dog competition for the weekend so I'm home alone.
Lots of jobs to do while the house is empty today and tomorrow, planning a MTB ride on Sunday, either Quantocks or Mendips.

Away in the caravan in the Peak District, our favourite place. It has llamas, turkeys, emu’s, donkeys and highland cows all around us, great!!
Home Saturday as back on duty Sunday on the heat!!
Unlike Tiepin I’m waiting until after 12 for first drink, maybe!
Enjoy whatever you’re up to

Beer on the square after work tonight unless it's heaving, if it is we'll go to the pub with the nice beer garden :obscene-drinkingcheers:

After being in France for a fortnight I have a few jobs in the garden to do although I managed to get most of my potting up done last night before tea so mainly lawn mowing, the rest can wait until the weather isn't as good. Got to get the EEB ready for a ride on Monday and I may have time for a quick whizz out on the Himalayan. The new forks for the Himmy can wait another weekend before I throw them on, I'll probably spray all the bolts with penetrating fluid in the meantime in preparation. :banana-wrench:

Sunday pm will be yet another beating for the Clarets at Turf Moor no doubt

Today I have been interviewing people. I'm actually sick of my own voice now.

Tomorrow I shall bound out of bed, go gym then come back and head off with Mrs. G to a gin making experience. After that we'll pop into my sister's place as it's just around the corner.

Sunday - BBQ, with some people I would not describe as 'Hot', but bloody good friends, so I'm looking forward to it.

Monday - applying aftersun, probably.

Today, no sessions this afternoon but heading out soon to drive my car for the first time in 10 weeks - taking a friend here to do her shopping! (She's here a LONG time, amputation so learning to use a prosthetic leg and all that goes with that)

Tomorrow - hoping to leave by about 8:30 to go home via a supermarket to pick up an online order so I don't have to make my way around on crutches. Then, hopefully some friends can meet me at home so they can help me get the stuff from the car into the apartment, and find my wheely stool to make the weekend less painful!
Sat evening will be sat on a comfy chair eating pizza

Sunday, some other friends are coming down to move my old bed into the other room then build the new one and put the new mattress on it ready for when I get home permanently :) :) They are bringing one of the sons so I'm hoping to make a deal with son and Dad about cutting the lawn!!
Leaving there by 16:30 latest and back here by 18:00 - dinner is yucky this Sunday so I'll probably eat well at home and bring snacks for Sunday night

Monday is sort of a BH here, but not for us patients as we do have sessions on Monday. I will also have to bring stuff up from the car (by wheelchair!) as need to bring all the newly washed clothes back and also some stuff to occupy the "downtime" until I can walk better (with less arm issues) !! Might get an able bodied patient to help (there's a friendly one here that had an AVC/stroke, so able bodied but here to verify the brain is recovering) :) :)

Tuesday - Friday : back to hoping the pool reopens and that I get more time on the airbag machine!!
