Having not had a chance to get out on a bike so far this weekend I got up early and was out by 7:00 this morning, avoiding the heat, traffic, hedge seeking weekend warriors and the plod.

No real plan so I rode over to A272 to Loomies, it wasn't open so kept going south on the A32. Over the downs and up onto Portsdown Hill where I stopped for a brew and a sausage bap and admired the view. Then across Emsworth common, up to Goodwood Circuit, Stane Street, Duncton Bends, Petworth and home just as the traffic started getting heavy.

82 miles and I'm a sweaty, frazzled mess. Few chores to do round the house then I think it's beer and BBQ this afternoon.

Spent the weekend servicing and cleaning the camper van ready for sale. Also had to replace the two front struts as they were highlighted on the mot. Bloody hot weekend for it and very hard work as a result. Looks good though.

Continued nursing the toe next to my left big toe which was stung by a bee at the weekend and is now the colour of a beetroot and shares a striking resemblance to His Majesties' big, fat porky fingers.

And fuck me, does it itch. :x

Ditto, mine were prepped with Angus & Oink Satay seasoning, tomorrow’s have been prepped with Cape Herb & Spice Rub Texan Steakhouse Seasoning

I’ve got some chicken breast to marinade in tikka spice to air fry / smoke in mine later in the week.

Did some gardening. More B&Q shopping with the wife and more gardening. Then daughter to a doctor's appointment. Bought some cheese and biscuits for tomorrow's afternoon event. Bought some beer, stout, ale, lager and cider and a couple of bottles of Vouvray. Oh yes, and some more gin, just in case. Coke and lemonade in case the rum gets opened. Also have some port put aside as well. Sounds like I might not want to get up too early Friday morning, just as well I am off! About to take the family out to the park to walk the freshly groomed woof, so that will be fun. LIfe is good and we are getting about enjoying it.

Late on parade after the weekend!

Damn that was hard being home and on crutches. The wheelie stool was dug out of the shed by some friends, but really only worked between the kitchen and the sitting room, but better than nothing I guess

I did realise that I can put a LOT more weight on the leg, mostly cos I just couldn't manage the crutches very well  But the weekend has made me able to work harder this week!! (Less fear, but fck my arm is hurting!!)

Anyway - some pics -

Quick bakery stop on the way home for coffee, patisserie and the view!!

Image

The chemically preserved bread finally went in the bin!! @Jody

Image

My lizardy mates were out in force to chat to me :) :)

Image

Some one else's cat stopped to give me a stern stare and then moved on as soon as I tried to take a photo

Image

I'd bought some roses before I was imprisoned - they've dried beautifully

Image
Image

Pizza for dinner (need to learn to make them as they are much more expensive now!!)

Image

Breakfast in the garden - I've missed this :) But was a serious challenge to get all that out there before I sat down to enjoy it!!!

Image

Image

Some friends came to build my bed for me - it's been in the box in the spare room since the day I crashed cos it got delivered that day

But it does mean that when I go home next, I'll have a new bed and mattress to sleep on - bloody home the mattress is comfy !!!!

Not today but yesterday I drove for 13 hours (over 1300km) from Rosscoff to La Garde Frienet. About as far northwest as you can get in France to almost as far south east!

This morning I had a replacement physio who was lovely and did a massage on my arm and parts of the shoulder muscles (she's almost as tough as my winter physio  ) and then did a 10 min static bike cycle - back to my room for an ice pack (most exercises/activities here cause the inside of my knee to swell; mostly an ice pack sorts it

After lunch I went back to the same physio for some leg stuff -

I WALKED WITHOUT CRUTCHES !!!!!! :bblonde: :bblonde:

Not far and between a set of bars (incase I needed to lean!!) - but DAMN I'm happy :) :) even though I'm currently back in my room with a cold pack on my knee and dreading heading to spazzy sports!!!

Here's hoping I can do without crutches sometime next week :) :) :) :)

If you have the room, and you're not stealing the family cash, or affecting your income for bills, then I can't see why you can't have another? Get it bought!

I hope you used your club card vouchers!

I've booked the ferry to Spain this week for a bit of Pyrenees action, where are you heading in Fronch?

Pre-ordered the new Paul Heaton album which enables me to gain access to pre-sale tickets for the tour later this year. Every ticket is £38.50 which is only a couple of quid more than the last time I saw him.
