No, it's a regular poster who is recovering from a stroke.Jody wrote: Sun May 31, 2026 4:20 pm So this is either a bot account or a windup/aliarse ?.......

Slightly worried that they think his mind is fineHi Noggin, thanks for checking in. Not good news I'm afraid, Austin suffered a stroke on Thursday morning
.
He is currently in Cheltenham General, he has no use in his left arm and leg atm, but he can speak, and his mind is fine. Just praying he improves slightly each dayxx
They are treating him very well. He is desperate for a coffee but he is NBM atm, so fingers crossed he might be able to eat and drink soon.
. Could be a bad sign
Crossing fingers heβs up and about and writing abuse with both hands very soon!!!

Well that seems somewhat ill thought out and pejorative Jody!Jody wrote: Sun May 31, 2026 4:20 pm So this is either a bot account or a windup/aliarse ?.......

The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'.

I really should not have said that and I unreservedly apologise, particularly to the OP.

Re: Rulesforowningahardley
I purchased a Harley 1200 Sportster with lots of tuning parts on it (Edelbrock heads, Keihin carb with Edelbrock inlet manifold, Andrews cam, etc., etc)
Had a straight through S&S exhaust system, extremely loud. So loud that was the main reason for selling it. And the fact the engine outperformed the chassis....

Re: Rulesforowningahardley
Maybe 20 years ago my mate was doing a secret shopper thing for MCN dealer of the year, we went up to an HD franchised dealer in the North East to try them out, they only thing I remember is that they had a dyno room with a blackboard up with models and power figures. They seemed to be quite proud they'd got 65 rwbhp out of a 1200 sportster!

Re: Rulesforowningahardley
That's pretty astounding for a air cooled pushrod motor!
I know the air cooled Ducati 1000DS struggles to tune up to 100bhp and an extra 200cc can't make that much difference.

This was from a Dyno print out from when the bike was in California (United States, not Norfolk), pre import.KungFooBob wrote: Tue Jun 02, 2026 2:45 pmThat's pretty astounding for a air cooled pushrod motor!

It might not have translated into "road bhp" but it was accelerated quickly and was bloody fast in a straight line. It could have been a lot faster if I had been able to brake with any certainty.
Big lesson learnt though, don't tune an engine without updating the brakes, chassis and suspension
