Selling on Facebook Marketplace - endless joy
Selling on Facebook Marketplace - endless joy
Selling my son's moped, very little interest on ebay, against my better judgement I put it on marketplace...
So far I've had,
What's it's top speed? It's a 50cc so not much
2 people called Bob with no friends or posts so assuming they're burglars.
Will I swap it for an ipad? Apparently I can sell the ipad for £200. No mention of what I can do for the rest of f the money.
What have people's experiences of marketplace been?

Never used it but, ebay and Gumtree are full of the same clowns.
Re: Selling on Facebook Marketplace - endless joy
Despite my moaning, had a message on Friday evening from someone who came and picked it up on Saturday afternoon. That's me told.
Ebay cost me £20 for the ad so I'll be back on marketplace with the bmw if I ever get it finished.

I have sold a couple of 125's on ebay and had the same as you,
125's are the worst to sell because the chavs want them.
When one guy asked how fast one of them went my reply was
and if they look like a chav I tell them it's sold.
Mostly because I was bored I put my Van Van up on swapz.co.uk and last night got offered
a 390 duke for it, had a chat with him on there for a while but eventually turned him down

That started an argument, so now I dont reply and i carefully look through profiles" If thats all you want to know then I am not going to sell it to you because you
will take it away, thrash the tits off it, fuck it up then want your money back. "

"Sorry but I think I will give your KTM a miss, I would be getting it to sell and I wouldn't have any confidence in it because I dont know it's history. I have had the VV for a couple of years so know it very well and have confidence that it will be a good bike for the new owner.
All the best and I hope you get a nice 125 for your son."

Tried selling a mountain bike frame on Marketplace. Despite saying collection only some chavvy twit about 300 miles away was desperate for it, so after a bit of too and fro and checking out his FB profile he was ringing all the alarm bells so I told him to forget it and about a minute later his mate wanted to buy it.
"Of all the stories you told me, which ones were true and which ones weren't?"
"My dear Doctor, they're all true."
"Even the lies?"
"Especially the lies."

I've bought 3 bikes and sold a couple on fb. All went well. If you're sensible and avoid the obvious AI nonsense it's not too bad, and as said ebay and gummtree are just as dodgy.

Re: Selling on Facebook Marketplace - endless joy
I found my '83 GPz11 & '83 GPz750 on FBMP
and the '81 GPz11 I keep looking at... & the '87 GPz1000RX that's still sitting there. If I had the room I'd buy both.
