So this whole thing has gone away since..Check thread Aug last year!! No arguing, no parking wars all good. I said to Mrs that problem matey has seemed a bit off when I've seen him since Aug which is several times and I've said hello, exchanged pleasantries , but I thought maybe it's just me, or if he is whatever.
Then last night I spot him getting his push bike out the garage and I say hello, off for a nice cycle etc. As I go to walk away he says, 'So what do you think about out the back?'. I play dumb and ask if he means about the proposed housing estate. No, he says the parking, and I notice he's got the adrenaline shakes, FFS. He says do you own that land or are you just responsible for it? I say that to be honest it's in the deeds so my assumption is it's owned with access rights but I let him see the plan and I got it out and put it away last summer and not thought of it since. He starts up again saying, I know you didn't want to get involved but he's been looking into it about how he needs access if he wants to park in his garage (which he can't) and then drops in a thinly veiled threat about how if someone has an accident on the busted drain cover down there we'd be liable etcThen he says so if there's nowhere to park I'm gonna park in that space even if next door block me in etc. So I said well you're gonna do what your gonna do so not sure what you want me to say. Wished him a good cycle/night and left.
What a twat. 65 years old or whatever and can't leave school level grudges behind. So I'm thinking we'll see a resumption of hostilities shortly between him and next door, I reckon as it's coming back into summer and he'll see next door a lot in passing and he can't help feeling like he's let them win. No idea if he's including me in all this now. Whatever happens I'm ignoring it now, can't be arsed with aggro people I've got better things to do with my time.
The guy seems to be on a road to cause shite cause he feels he has lost something, some sort of something.
Here is my professional opinion, that is worth what you paid for it. This person is going to cause trouble. So I would go on to the land registry and get a copy of all of those houses deeds. That way you can see all the if there are any differences in deeds. Then look at the specific wording, Thinking it a few quid a deed. Would also speak to your house/buildings insurance highlighting that someone has made the statement so you are checking what your legal cover is.
Drop me a PM and I can see if I can help. But the bins storage, is it his? As if he is going to go down the arse route, that area will not be for storage of bins. When I was in practice, I made lots of money with people like this, it is up there with boundary disputes. People have murdered people over this sort of dispute.

Re: Parking war question
Getting deeds out of the land registry was haphazard for me. It was a few years back but I had to know what the plot I was enquiring about was called, I requested one and thought it odd when the garage was missing which made me think my garage may be on my neighbour's land. My neighbour worked for a conveyancing firm and pulled out an area map showing me my house covered 3 plots, one was a byway which I thought was council owned.
It could be pretty pricey paying a few quid each time to piece together a few plots.

Re: Parking war question
I have, I believe, the deeds for my house from when purchased, along with the original plot map from when the estate was built along with colour coded plot matching to the deeds. Not at this stage getting anyone else's. So far nothing more has come of this...yet. And I'm hoping if it does it'll resume between next door and matey, and not me. If that's the case, when there is effing and jeffing at max volume out the back I'm just putting some music on.Mussels wrote: Wed Apr 22, 2026 8:51 pm Getting deeds out of the land registry was haphazard for me.
