My garage... the 1000sqft one I had before... when it was neither too cold & too hot. I WILL have another, at least 1500sqft, preferably twice that.

Surrounded by tools & bikes etc, could fix/rebuild/restore damn near anything. Could fettle, potter & tinker for hours, sometimes noticed it was dark outside & wandered back in the house to find it was 2am.. 8-)

Which contrasts with me spending two fucking hours today sat on the floor in the current garage sweating my taters off while putting my GPz750 carbs back together

or the titty bar.. :shhh:

Down the bottom of the garden in the radio shack, chatting to other fellow radio operators about what equipment and how much power we're using.

I’m 51. Year ago, I might have put in something about riding a motorbike across Australia or sitting in an isolated waterfall in Thailand.

Fact is though, my happiness and my true happy places can be demonstrated across 4 areas:

1. Dinner with my family. Since the kids have been approx. 5yo, they’ve taken their turn in cooking the evening meal Mon-Fri. We sit down as a family every single night. My eldest is back from uni and my daughter will soon be going off to uni- so this is a sweet spot and I love it.

2. Walking my dogs especially in the woods and especially when we find water or new places.

3. Riding my MTB or my MB. Both make me happy, even in shit weather.

4. My garden. It’s not much, but I built it and I love spending time in it.

5. Having a beer with my wife in a Friday at 5.30 in the summer. Can be a little bu later - but not much. One usually leads to 5, but it’s just us and we laugh our heads off.

Nothing fancy but it’s my world.

Happy? I tried it once, it's overrated.

Right now, it's here...

The noise, the smell, the sound, the folk.
Just love it
Last day today
