Madueke. The Arsenal guy. Probably the only one i like in Arsenal.Dodgy69 wrote: Wed Jun 17, 2026 10:04 pm I'm watching but struggling to get excited. Pickford playing out from the back putting defenders under pressure, we simply ain't good enough for that. What's his name on right wing makes me sit up , but not much else. Think I'm just a grumpy fcuker. ☹

You must have all been livid when the assistant coach you've all never heard of came on at half timeYorick wrote: Wed Jun 17, 2026 10:06 pmI speak to loads of footy fans. FWIW, to me, women's football is irrelevant.
I want to hear from folk who have played in the men's world cup.
I'm sure they're lovely folk, but it's a different game
If you are watching a Liverpool game, do you want to hear from an ex Liverpool player, or a girl you've never heard of?
I'm all for equality, but sometimes it doesn't make sense.

Re: World Cup
Hats off, played well 2nd half. Zaka and Rashford ain't a bad pair to bring on. Still not sure about Pickford but it's a good win, well done England.

Re: World Cup
Dunno what the manager said to them at half time but he certainly lit a fire under them. Best I've seen an England side play for, well, ever! Outstanding performance from them.
Re: World Cup
I'm thinking that the English defence will get caught out with trying to draw out the opposition, let's just call it messing about , there's a goal to be had and a better team will take it.

Re: World Cup
It's a major issue with the modern game that all teams are incredibly well organised, they slot straight into a defensive wall quickly and it's really hard to break down. So sitting in front of them by the half way line as we've seen for multiple teams already doesn't work. So you have to get them out of position, make more space to run into etc.Nobby wrote: Thu Jun 18, 2026 8:55 am I'm thinking that the English defence will get caught out with trying to draw out the opposition, let's just call it messing about , there's a goal to be had and a better team will take it.
The only way to do this is to draw them out and into your own territory. It's risky, but you need the gaps and space this can create.
