Just mowed our rear lawn - phone flashed up with a 'steps award', I'd clocked 3 miles up and down

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Bought a set of Morgan Carb balancers a couple of weeks ago. Last weekend i balanced the Baby Fazers carbs. What a difference. You probably dont notice them being out as it happens gradually but for a 600cc bike it can shift. I am no great fan of popping wheelies but that week bike would make a great stunt bike
When i bought Daddy Fazer i phoned the bike shop and told them i am on my way down to buy it cash so dont sell the bloody thing today. They never had time to service or MOT it but il survive. Anyway carbs balanced today took it out for a spin for an hour or so and
Almost filled my pants. I honestly love this Fazer 1000 but today i love it even more. We are popping over to Anstruther tomorrow for Fish N Chips and i think the wife will be punching my ribs now and then
Best 80 quid i have ever spent.

Givi Discontinued pannier racks. Bloody hens teeth for the Fazer. Need powdercoated but put them on the bike so if my cheeky offer on cases get excepted.
I now have spare top racks and top box plate for the FZS1000 if anyone needs them. (Monolock)

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Just been through customs here in Cadiz for the ferry
Normally the Guardia/Customs are arse holes.
He asked where I'd been. When I said Portimao, he looked at the tyres and waved me straight through
It's a bit strange as all the foot passengers need to go through airport type scanners.
But the vehicles only get a cursory look unlike the Guardia are in a bad mood.

I learnt some years ago to amend the default OOO notification to something along the lines of, 'I'll be away from [date] to [date]. Any messages received to this mailbox will be deleted upon my return and not read. If you require urgent assistance please email [group mailbox]'.MrLongbeard wrote: Tue Jun 23, 2026 1:04 pm For the first time in years n years I have zero'd out my inbox, just in time to go on holiday and have it fill up again.![]()

When a road closure takes you on a different route.......... and it's AWESOME. This will now be my default route for going to that town!

Woke up in Cornwall where the temps are about 6 or 7 degrees lower than back at home. I was a bit miffed at leaving the hot weather behind but it’s worked out well, especially for my menopausal wife, which indirectly means me too !

Nice to see you - but “paddle”? That’s not what it’s there for. Get in!

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Been a smidge worried about my lovely little Skoda - she sat for around 8 weeks with only two short drives and then another (around) 4 weeks with just a short supermarket trip a couple of times and two trips home.
Once I started driving it at roughly 8/9 weeks, there was a noise from the front driver side wheel - I figured it was sticky pads/discs after being sat so long
Once home I figured that really the noise would die down if it was what I thought. Only it didn't seem to
So now I'm thinking - wheel bearing ??
Visited work today and the mechanic took it out for a drive, I told him there was a noise from that side (although I hadn't heard it today
) and he came back and asked -
Exactly where/what noise ??
So no more noise
AND, he's taken my car reg and phone no so he can organise a somewhat belated oil change
(I'm not good at this stuff - had to check the 'MOT' date yesterday cos I didn't know if I had 6 more months or if I was 6 months out of date
)
Happy me - he drove it around locally for about 15 mins, so he's tried hard to find what I used to hear
