It is! I have ridden for multiple days in 30+ temperatures and it is a life saver.

It was actually not too bad, Fridays trip was later in the day & quite a bit worse. Got to do it all again on Thursday though

At the moment, London is similar temperatures to where I live in Spain. There a WhatsApp group for the locals I go out with, this morning they're planning a day out before it gets too hot.

Me & Mrs McSatan went for a breakfast ride this morning, about 40 miles to the Butcher's Hook cafe. It was already 26 degrees when we left at 0800. She has this 'cool' shirt thing that you soak in water, put in the fridge in a pouch and leave for a few hours. You'd think you'd get soaked when you put it on under a jacket but somehow miraculously you don't, and it keeps you nice and cool.

Now predicted 33C during sons wedding on Friday, was previously predicted at 36C so slowly being reduced travelling in Mrs db's car so will have working aircon at least

Pretty much convinced myself that one major advantage of a leccy bike in traffic would be so much less heat from the engine, it felt like my legs were on fire sat astride the CBF in London stationery traffic.

My '95 ZX11 is a leg cooker & not just at a standstill.

IIRC when air temperature nears 34C it loses cooling, instead heats you.

According to an article on BBC news, 35°C.

That said, a 1° or 2° drop probably isn't going to make much difference in cooling.

I wear a lightweight armoured shirt from Merlin, roll the cuffs up one fold so the wind gets into the sleeve (just), and flip the lid up on my helmet for the non-dual-carriageway bits of my journey (5 mins either end). I also hydrate before the ride

Don't think i'd be able to ride with just a t-shirt/shorts, but if the heat keeps up then it'll be armoured vest time....but i'm a porker so that'll look appalling.

It's not unknown here to either ride through someones lawn sprinklers, or get off the bike & run around in the sprinklers when it gets a tad too toasty. I've done it a few times.
I've even seen riders pour a bucket of water over themselves, but the effect is fairly short-lived in 2% humidity.
