Coupla dozen copper/steel Top-Lock nuts for exhaust clamps. 8 are going on the '83 GPz750, the three 1100's already have them so now I have spares for any other bikes that may show up...*cough* '81 GPz11.. *cough*...

Portable air con unit for my upstairs office.
Cooling the room down nicely, but the supplied hose is too short so it's currently sat on a chair and the 6" hose is hanging out of the window, which I can't now close to keep all the lovely cool air in....

Re: The Official Pleasing Purchase Thread
In ye olde local antiques centre I spotted a copy of Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow. It was a bit steep, but I'd had a beer so bought it for £20.
It plays great, wikipedia suggests that because it's in a gate fold cover and released by Oyster it's one of the original 1975 pressings.
The cheapest I can find it on eBay is £19.89.
Dio was one the greatest rock vocalists imho.
I need a copy of 'Rising' the follow up, as that has one of the greatest songs of all time on it.

It's very good, but A Light in the Black is better, imo. Dio is awesome, one of the best rock vocalists as you said

Re: The Official Pleasing Purchase Thread
The polar opposite of pleasing. This fucking thing is part of the kickstand on the '83 GPz750. After holding out for three months hoping to find a cheap source I ended up paying $80.04 for this damn thing.
Instead of just using a spring like EVERY OTHER FUCKING KICKSTAND ON THE PLANET
Mama Kaw decided to use a short spring that connects to this plate & a special fucking bolt (Another 20 fucking dollars)
to hold this piece of metal to a special fucking plate ($27.80
that bolts to the frame.
Kaw only used this on the GPz750-A's & the GPz750-E's (the turbo version).
ZRX11 key for scale.
AND!! I had to buy two different fucking kickstands just to source the damn spring...
So now I have THREE '83 GPz750 kickstands.
....and breathe....

Re: The Official Pleasing Purchase Thread
How urgent is it?? If needs be, send to me in France and either I'll bring it back to post in the uk or I can ask someone else to do that - possibly add to someone's luggage in August when she flies home or various people going home in September that could bring it and post it in the uk?Felix wrote: Tue Jun 30, 2026 12:39 am Oh aye. No good if its urgent of course
Probably less a case of how much is postage, more about import charges or post office charges (even when something is a gift and so doesn't qualify for customs charges here, the post office will often charge a handling fee

Major faff.. seller won't ship to the US so I would have had to get it sent to someone outside the US, then re-mailed to the US & have to pay import duty etm*Felix wrote: Tue Jun 30, 2026 12:39 am Oh aye. In Holland. Would shipping be that bad?

That second, smaller spring in the ad is from the brake lever pivot... I know that because I've got two of them, one of which is deformed at the end like his one.
* first use of etm instead of etc

Re: The Official Pleasing Purchase Thread
I bought one of these toilet height booster thingies yesterday!! I didn't want to waste money and buy one before because I figured I'd be all fit and able to get up with no issues within a couple or three weeks. Since it's taking a while for the knee to play the game; and likely it isn't, so I'll be needing further surgery sooner rather than later I just decided to get the damn thing !!
Hate having to buy OAP stuff, but the loo here is so small it's difficult to stand up after cos I don't have space to lean forwards etc
Soooo, first part of OAP kit purchased - definitely makes the standing up bit easier

Don't leave the lid of the actual toilet down when you install that.

I did have a moment of worry that I'd have to take the original seat/lid off first, but nope, all fitted fine

We were spoiled whilst on holiday and our ten year old wee 42 incher was no longer going to cut the mustard, not full council house spec at a reasonable 55", but one hell of a picture.

(Might be in the market for a 4k TV before long. I think ours is getting a bit 'old tech').

LG 55" G5 https://www.currys.co.uk/products/lg-g5 ... 82094.html
I could have gone for the C5 for less money but wanted the extra anti reflective properties of the G5 as it sits in a well lit room and is used at midday every day.
Yes it's an OLED, no idea how it compares to other technicities expect it knows spots off my old TV.
Sound, not great, not bad either, to my tinnitus fouled ears it's OK for watching every day TV programs, but I have a stonking great sound bar and sub for movie nights.

Re: The Official Pleasing Purchase Thread
Bagged a pair of these at sale price from John Lewis and they turned up today.
Not heard of Rodd and Gunn before but they're pretty
quality - leather/suede uppers and insoles + most importantly, they fit v well.
Obvs others were attracted by them (+the sale price) 'cos they're sold out.
Got a linen shirt from Cordings in their sale too. The saving nearly covered the cost of delivery.
Oh...and a pair of Mizuno trainers too.

OMG!! I bought some choccy Digestives at WallyWorld a couple of days ago & the pack contains individual biscuits!!
This a first in 30 years.
Living here in the Mojave Desert usually means the chocolate has melted & then solidified again to form one 8in thick biscuit.

Maybe not pleasing, but just ordered these for monkey duties. All I'm interested in is long trousers for hot days.
Yes, they're probably shit, but I'm quite fond on a bit of that.

I found that with my airflow pants, because the mesh was flush with the thigh when you were in the seated position you didn't actually get much air actually flowing. Temporary respite was available by riding standing up.Dodgy69 wrote: Thu Jul 09, 2026 10:05 am Maybe not pleasing, but just ordered these for monkey duties.
