Judge wants to ban biking for longer than driving...

Judge looks for best way of banning 178 mph Milton Keynes biker https://share.google/eiKM5Pida0zk3v9sz
Succinctly. 2 guys riding fast, both crash, one dies. The judge is trying to find a way to ban the survivor from bikes for longer than cars?!
What say you?

If he's a danger to others on a bike I can't see how he's less so in a car - just the opposite.
Is the judge restricted in some way on how long he can ban someone from driving?

The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'.

More to this than meets the eye. I know that road well, (and may have done a highly illegal speed along it a few years back), but
a) they were stupid, very high speed + other traffic = back off
b) tried to overake AND undertake, suggests car was pulling out on them. Did he use his mirrors?
Done properly speed on that road is fine, dual carriageway.

I only do silly speeds on and empty road. They were clowns playing in traffic and one paid bit time. Sorry but zero empathy.

The judge may not like his sentencing options but asking the CPS barristers to be inventive is dubious. If he wants the maximum punishment changed he should ask his MP and not try to make it up himself.
If they want to treat car and bike licenses independently then it should be across the board, lose bike license for bike offences but car license is untouched. I suspect the judge wouldn't like that.

Yeah, I'm not sure the powers that be would like that all, despite me thinking that it would actually be quite sensible. Seems to me that he's already lost his brother in law & good friend, so probably learnt his lesson regarding the dangers of speed & biking. If they want to treat car and bike licenses independently then it should be across the board, lose bike license for bike offences but car license is untouched.
