Re: World Cup
Hilarious here in LA as all the local TV stations had their reporters at the Mexican watch parties & it's wall to wall misery.. which pleases me greatly.

Just woke up and read the scores. I had to read them three times before it sunk in. Bloody hell!

Other people's misery seems to be one of the great joys in your existence. Canadians, Mexicans, anyone you can find on YouTube getting shot/hurt, arrested etc etc etc. Happy bunny aint'cha?ZRX61 wrote: Mon Jul 06, 2026 5:08 am Hilarious here in LA as all the local TV stations had their reporters at the Mexican watch parties & it's wall to wall misery.. which pleases me greatly.![]()

Re: World Cup
Jordan Henderson.....what a plum. It's almost like they're trying to add jeopardy to each round.
Wonder if Quansah will get the USA/FIFA/Infantino/Monopoly get out of jail card?? I suspect not.

Re: World Cup
Watched it this morning without knowing the result.
Also watched highlights from Brazil v Norway.
My main take from it all was that i remember now why i stopped bothering watching football.
Mexicos penalty decision was fucking awful, but Brazils one was even worse. The over-analysis of each and every aspect of a decision spoils the game massively for me. Even Englands red card, if you didn't see it, the linesman didn't see it, that's it, move on.
England played OK, but it wasn't a great game of football... but that's the game now really

Oh yeah - we had a power cut at around 3:30am - I did wonder if it was everyone putting the kettle on or an over-excited network engineer thumping the control console and plunging the area into blackout.

Re: World Cup
Just watched the rerun. Fantastic game and hats off every player stepped up and worked hard. Bellingham first half was fantastic.
Didn't like the 5 at the back to hold on, but we'll done Tuchel, it worked.

Re: World Cup
Wow, everyone else is saying the complete opposite!! I'm hearing it was a superb game with the most nerve racking final 15 minutes ever. We still won with 10 men. Legendry performances etc???weeksy wrote: Mon Jul 06, 2026 8:01 am Watched it this morning without knowing the result.

Excellent.
Nobody seems to have mentioned the altitude, something that would have been used as an excuse if they had lost.
Going down to 10 men didn’t help, and from then on it was always going to be a defensive ending.

I don’t know which game Weeksy was watching, it wasn’t the one that I watched.

maybe it says more about me than the game then. I wasn't even remotely interested watching it this morning

Re: World Cup
I fast-forwarded the highlights, so I'm with you mate. Not so much the game that bores me, but the hyperbole around it all and the over-analysis of everything.weeksy wrote: Mon Jul 06, 2026 10:20 am maybe it says more about me than the game then. As for VAR, whatever happened to the 'The ref's decision is final'? Christ, just get on with it.

Re: World Cup
Is it just me who sniffs something fishy about the red card suspension being rescinded for the USA after Trumpton makes a call to an iffy Italian spiv?
Seriously?
