I have never owned a motorcycle with...

Post by KungFooBob »

Cheesy thread alert.

It occurred to me, I've had everything from 1-4 cylinders, 50-1200cc's, twin and monoshock, liquid and air cooled, RWU and USD forks, but I've never had a motorcycle with a radio/stereo or more than 4 cylinders.

What haven't you had?

Max points if you've never owned an IL4 or something water cooled.

I've never owned an adventure styled bike, but I've ridden some and detested them in every way.

Never owned a British bike.
Never owned anything Italian.
Never own a bike that wasn't from the big four Japanese manufacturers.

It'll be 50 years on bikes.next year.

I came close a few times, but something always stopped me. Was toying with the idea of a ZX7R and also a GSXR750, but bought something else instead. Can't see me ever owning one now. I rode a mate's CBR600RR and it just felt like a food processor. Or a washing machine on spin cycle.

No boxers
No triples (I have ridden them though)
No Goldwings.

I would like to rectify all of these omissions, sadly the Goldwing will almost certainly elude me.

Boxer engined
Water cooled 2 stroke
Il 4.(borrowed my dad's for 3 months though)
A fully faired bike
An off road / adventure bike, although more than 1 has been taken off road
Over 100 hp
A post unification German bike

Given how few bikes I've owned (5!) I'm surprised the list isn't longer to be honest.

This should have been a poll. Boxers would be least popular, which is odd as the R1100/1150/1200/1250 GS has to be one of the most popular selling family of bikes ever!

Realised that my exclusion list is longer than first thought. So no:

German bikes
Triples (I would like to rectify this)
British bikes (old or new)
Adventure bikes
Off-road bikes (I accept that this is a major failing on my part)
Overweight, over-specified touring bikes

And, of course, IL4s of any description...
