Realised that the Bayeux Tapestry isn't a tapestry. (It's not woven, it's an embroidery). + tapestry originates from 'tapis' the French for carpet.
Might go and see it when it arrives back in England - where it was made.
(4 of us pitched up on bikes in Bayeux on one trip. Mooched about outside the 'tapestry' place, thought about going in, had a coffee and rode off without going to see it).
I went to see it in France on a school trip - so probably 40+ years ago

Don't think anyone told us it was English made ! If it's somewhere near anywhere I'll be on the next visit over, I would be quite interested to go see it again !

Yup. It should have 'fabriqué en Angleterre' on it.

(Maybe that was on the last - missing - panel

). It's got Halley's comet on it too!
I think it'll be at the British Museum and I expect it'll be absolutely crammed for the duration. Better to catch it in Bayeux before they move it!

Trying to translate and understand the results of some xrays yesterday !! Not only translating french but also understanding names of stuff I haven't had to deal with before !!
Basically,, there's a possibility of some sort of arthritis in my left hand, well, thumb and two fingers; at least, that's what I thought.
Not totally sure what the results say but they aren't helped by the fact that I have chipped, cracked, broken a LOT of fingers bones !! There's mention of the right little finger (I think), but that one isn't painful or an issue - I broke both sides of the middle bone and the adjoining ends of the other two at Portimao, so I have to tell the doctor to ignore that bit when I see him!!
Xrays are funny tho !!
French results
English results
I think I need to see the physio cos I know he can explain this in English
Still waiting on the blood test results

I saw the Bayeaux Tapestry a few years ago. I got a ferry into Cherbourg and cycled up to Calais for a ferry home. Did all the D Day stuff and whatever Atlantic Wall was worth seeing on the way.

Put bigger injectors in my camperbus. After changing the burnt out starter motor and what felt like an age to bleed it went broom , broom. Now it goes like shit of a shovel. OK not in small sparts car sense but for a 4.2 tonne bus it was pulling 80 up a hill quite well

Dealt with shit, literally…
Labrador woke me up around 1am with an urgent bark, thankfully I got him out before stinking lava exited his arse probably due to having too much fun on the beach on Friday, his arse wasn’t too clever yesterday.
Daighter’s dog, beagle / springer cross, is staying and decided to join in the fun between 1.30am when I let her out in the garden and 8am when I got up. Unfortunately, this was in her crate, followed by the garden, the crate in my car and around the park. She’s right as rain now. No idea what caused it so she’s on a bland diet for the day.
Two lots of bedding through the washing machine, two crates hosed out, carpet cleaned and lawn hosed.
They are now curled up together, half sleeping, half barking at passers by.
Oh the joys of pet ownership!!

Very poor at 80. When i got my remap from 90 to 120 the average was only 22mpg. Got a set of injectors from a friend and when i went down the peaks the other weekend i was 18/19 average, plus down on power. That is when we discovered the injectors were from a 75bhp model. As they are not electronic i got a thinking i should be going larger. These are from a 115 model so i have got a 500 mile trip coming up soon and ill work it out then.

Was going shopping but saw loads of wood at local recycling point.
Back seat was full. Now the wood pile looks better.
We have bonfires on BBQ when it drops to 16/17c.
Didn't take long with my new 18v Makita jobby. Even I did first half with steel blade in

Bit hot today and the old dog hasn't moved all day. Just lying down.
So took him in the pool. He struggled for about 15 seconds then realised he was safe. He had his rear claws in my trunks.
We just walked up and down for about 10 mins and he was calm. Normally he hates water.
When I lifted him out i expected him to scarper as usual when he's showered.
But he stayed by me. So no resentment.
He's lively as hell now

New car

well 4 month old but new to me.
They come in 3 specs, I looked at the base model but thought bugger it I’ll go for the top. Not that much difference in price.

Went to both the highest point in Wales, Snowdon, then down to sea level to eat fish and chips on the beach.
The drank rum and coke back at the caravan.
