Been out putting miles on the new scooter and doing a small electrical job for my Dad, followed by cleaning the scoot as the roads were filthy and it rained. Then loaded the van ready to drop bike off for Andalucia track day..

Re: What have you done today thread?
Spent my birthday evening putting up sound foam panels on the ceiling. Electrician was installing the fans and left the tower for me to use overnight. Very nice of them. Fans are now installed and working perfectly. So the hall is bang up to date with Bluetooth, microphones, TV, sound deadening material, induction loop and kitchen. And a tired old vicar!

One who forgives an affront fosters friendship, but one who dwells on disputes will alienate a friend.

Flying in to Catania, and basing ourselves there as I want to do Mount Etna, and Taormina. Hired a car too, so will likely drive over to Palermo, and/or drive some of the coast roads.
All recommendations gratefully received!

Visit the catacombs in Palermo. Interesting in a macabre way. And no visit to Palermo should miss the Quattro Canti to see the fountains and statues and to just sit and watch the world go by with ice cream. And drink lots of the local Frappato wine and have the local Averna amaro con giacchio (with ice) after dinner.

Spiffed & pre-flighted the F350, off to Willow Springs for this:

The main event on Sunday is an open race for basically anything with a V8... so there are old Cobras, Vettes, Shelby Mustangs, NASCAR cup cars, McLaren Can-Am cars etc all on the track together. It's a bit loud & lairy...

Re: What have you done today thread?
A bit of upholstery and getting off my box on glue fumes
Onto the finishing touches in the lounge which meant tackling the bay window seat, trimmed with fabric panels across front, back and flank walls. New flooring meant front and flanks needed 20mm slicing off the bottom and refinishing the fabric to the 6mm plywood
Previous installer using too short staples for the Velcro fixing the panels, which meant removing hundreds of staples from the frame work, and yards and yards of both hook and loop tapes, brushing on contact adhesive to panels, frame work and both tapes before joining the mating parts and installing panels.
For a simple task, it hasn’t half taken some time!
Onwards and upwards to the next job on the list.

Almost ordered a new phone and security camera, but bailed at the last minute as black friday is in a couple of weeks. I suspect i've just wasted my time...

Re: What have you done today thread?
Mostly cooked. Made a load of sausage rolls, mostly for the freezer but I did eat a couple first !! Have had a bag of sausage meat with apple in he freezer for a 'while', so the other day I bought some puff(ish) pastry and finally made the saus rolls
Excellent for snacks, better for snacks at home as I can heat them, so not sure when I'll actually eat them LOL. But they're done
I made a big chicken thing, so that's 11 meals, 9 in the freezer and 2 in the fridge
Am about to do some egg fried rice (cooked the rice this morning so it's not as dry as I'd like but pretty good) with chicken balls from the freezer and a little pot of S&S sauce from the cupboard (must make some more!!)
Still need to sew, but I have been putting that off!! I hate "mending", prefer actually making something, but because I can sew I tend to get asked to fix things
Chilling before the fried rice cooking, and planning to watch strictly later
