I don't suppose the decommissioning (2022) of West Burton A power station has helped the place. WB B (gas) won't have half the jobs. They propose to put a prototype STEP Tokamak fusion reactor there. If it ever gets built and goes wrong it'll improve Gainsborough town centre although the metal in all the mobility scooters might absorb a lot of the radiation.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 11:20 amOooh, only been there once, it was in the 90s, it wasn't nice.Count Steer wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 11:07 am Oh, and one slightly different location. Went, just out of interest. It's got some positives (nice uptarted shopping area at Marshall's Yard) but, by gum, the rest of the place looked grim.

15 mins from here, even the nice shopping area doesn’t make it worth a visitCount Steer wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 11:07 am Oh, and one slightly different location. Gainsborough.

Wife loves Nepal, she's been there a few times. I'd be a little worried about how secure a place it was to live though? Never quite sure who in is charge or who wants to be in charge? Really should make an effort to go there though, it does look fantastic.Mr Moofo wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 10:08 pm Bits of Nepal are cheap to live in , culture is good - food is cheap ...
