You can't really put those horrendous Daihatsus or whatever they are in the same thread.

Is that a 2+2 tho', what you really want is the rare shorter wheelbase 2+0?
If I had another I'd go 2+2 for the proportions, stability, practicality and I have a feeling the targa roof was only on the 2+2 also.

Best car for the fun of driving it and enjoyment of doing it was a mk1 escort that I put a 2lt pinto out of a capri into then bodged a turbo off an unknown vehicle on to it. It took a while for the turbo to spin up but when it did all hell broke loose, standard wheels, tyres & F/R drum brakes,
each time I took it out I wondered if I was going to hit anything, proper terrifying to drive lol.

I also did a mk2 cortina, that was a bit more advanced with capri 3lt running gear front and back and a rover v8,
sounded nice but not so exciting to drive.

After that I had a Volvo 760 gle estate that I put a chrysler 440cu/7.2 ltr v8 out of a chevy day van in it, cast iron block that weighed as much
as the car, never got that one finished.

My current one, Mk8 Fiesta ST-3, stage 1 full Miltec system.

Absolute Hoot to drive and pulls like a bloody train, over 230hp in a Fiesta!

The best car I had before I got a company car was a Mark 1 MG Midget. Not a lot of performance but enough for its time and lovely, predictable handling.
The best company car was a Mark 1 Ford Mondeo. It was a huge improvement over the Sierra.
The best car after company cars was the Suzuki Cappuccino. Like the Midget, enough performance to have fun and lovely handling.
My current car, a Mazda 6 Estate is a close second to the Cappuccino. And it's such a good looking car.

Nah, young, obviously a long time ago, married with 3 brats and only a mc licence = cheap motoring.
But yes could be scary going round tight corners or with side winds.
Got a reliant robin after i blew the regal engine :P
