There's other nostalgia bikes i guess like a 916, but i think it'd be a 990SD that could tick more boxes for me.

There's a 990SD for sale local to me dead cheap, but when you look at the pictures closely it's proper proper rough, black paint bubbling on the swingarm, holes drilled in the airbox, etc...

Aprilia RSV1000R Factory - loved my one when I owned it.
Prices don't seem too different to when I sold it many years ago, seem to have reached their natural value.

Every time I think about 'nostalgia' bikes I go and sit in a darkened room for 10 minutes until sense returns.

I suppose that's because they include things like a Scott, a CX and a P&M Panther and I've zero interest in doing spannering again.

Although an old MV would be nice...even if it's only to look at.

I'm planning on putting my ancient XT600 back on the road in April,but only as it will be zero tax & MOT exempt.
I can think of a few bikes from the 90's that I'd like to own for a few months,then I'd want to move on & I CBA with selling privately so it's unlikely to happen.
One of my mate's has a 250LC & I'll have a spin on it some sunny day in the next few months,but I've no intention of buying one.

There's lots of good bikes out there for very little money,in comparison to new prices. The 990 Superduke is a fine example,it's one of those bikes I nearly bought back in the day. I'd take one before a new KTM any day.

Prices on the old shitters I seem attracted to these days have mostly stabilised after the silly covid price spike,but I wouldn't say they are cheap,or great value for money. It's likely only collectors that are obsessed with 'the market',I just like buzzing about on the things.

Ain't that the truth, I was looking at new for the next bike, but a 4 year old example with less than 5000 miles on it is £10k under new list price

I'd like a nice black LC350 just to park in the garage and drool over it and remember all the good races.

Don't want any bikes I had in the past. They were replaced for good reason.

I'd like a Rd250/400, e or f model, but the 400s are mostly north of £10k now! I could have had a deal with my CB1000R for a lovely RD250E but I declined. I probably should have done and left it in my f-i-ls garage for a few years if didn't ride it and been quids in.

The only non-nostalgia bike I own is the 690 Duke, and that's over 8 years old...
