Plasterboard fixings

What's the best way to attach heavy objects (mine is a neon sign on a back board - similar weight to a mirror) on to a plasterboard stud wall? The sign came with rawl plugs, but I cant see that working well in plasterboard.

Anyone used any fittings that you'd recommend? I see some youtubers just ...

Re: Depression

Does sound shit mate but as my Dad once said to me, "As you get older Son, your black suit comes out more often". A sad fact of life we don't all make old age...
Sadly that is very true. I now have more dead friends than live ones, and have been to more funerals than parties every year for a ...

Re: Depression

I'm not sure I have much useful to add hear. Touchingly honest stuff here.

I lost my best mate to suicide.

He was such a lovely unique man, who I know as "Dangerous Dave". Many people get drunk and come up with mad schemes which just get laughed about. But DD would follow through. He lived in a ...

Fantic could learn a thing or two from Dave. I'm not sure I'd consider the standard model, but that one looks absolutely lush. I bet it would be a bit spendy though.

Re: ADHD & Autism

This is really tricky. Its really clear that there are a lot more people being diagnosed with neuro-diverse conditions than there ever have been in the past. But that doesn't mean that the conditions are more prevalent, but rather that they are being diagnosed more. The real question is whether or ...

Re: premium bonds.

I bought a good few about 6 years ago - but still well off the max. I've had £5k twice and only missed a prize completely 3 times. The last time I did the sums I was beating the 4% the prize fund gets by a couple of percentage points. For the first year I was in double figures, but its been tracking ...

Superduke R, obviously. or MV Brutale 1000RR if you've got money to burn.

Re: Depression

I don't think I have ever suffered from depression, although I've been close to people who have. There's a difference between depression and being in a dark place because of the shit that life throws at you. And it has a good go at that sometimes. It's had a good go at me in the last week or so. The ...

Re: Friday thread... the payday eventually one

January is so long. It went on and on and on. And it wasn't a great month at Trog Towers as the lovely Saskia, the sweetest of cats, succumbed to illness and we had to say good bye. She goes to join Trog's Cat, and will hopefully appear to me in my dreams and dispense inappropriate advice. And there ...

Re: CBF600 whistle or squeak

Well...yes it's full of oil. It hasn't always done it. I am beginning to suspect a clutch bearing, but who knows?

I have enough trouble with those bloody Shoggoths that are still nesting under my shed. They'd better not be in the garage now. The toads are bad enough

CBF600 whistle or squeak

I've currently got my mate's wife's 60 reg CBF600 here. it's a long story, but due to health stuff neither she nor he can ride it, and its parked up here. I need to get it an MOT and was out messing with it earlier, and I think we are ready for the MOT.

But it is making a bit of an odd noise. It's ...

It was a good while ago that I did this. I stayed in Le Mans overnight. The cathedral is amazing, like a huge brooding malevolent spider, keeping an eye on her estate.

OK - I am planning to be at Box hill by around 2, if anyone fancies it. It's OK, you don't have to fancy me. Although admiration from a distance is fine.

Re: G'wan, one won't hurt

I cant believe anyone thinks alcoholic drinks don't taste nice? Seriously? Its almost as good as cheese!

Anyway.

I don't drink particularly regularly. But if I have a drink, I have a drink. I don't much see the point of drinking unless you get drunk, and I rather like being drunk, so that's what I ...
