I did that once, albeit staying at a mate's parent's house after a very drunken NYE.Taipan wrote: Wed Oct 29, 2025 1:40 pm I bought a new build back in the early 80s. Came home pissed up and took the first right off teh main road instead of the second right and spent ages trying to get into the wrong house!![]()
Funny now, but the arrest for drunk & disorderly and attempted burglary less so at the time.

I was lucky as it could have easily have got nasty, me getting clumped or Plod called I suppose. Bloke thought it was hilarious. I went back the next day to apologise in case I scared his wife etc but again he was fine about it, saying he could easily do the same thing as the houses do all look alike...Slenver wrote: Thu Oct 30, 2025 10:08 amI did that once, albeit staying at a mate's parent's house after a very drunken NYE.Taipan wrote: Wed Oct 29, 2025 1:40 pm I bought a new build back in the early 80s. Mine was a terrified old lady, followed by me face down on the bonnet of a police car with my arms behind my back, like off of the 70s.Taipan wrote: Thu Oct 30, 2025 10:26 amI was lucky as it could have easily have got nasty, me getting clumped or Plod called I suppose. OTOH it could be a small house with land and Belted Galloways or a couple of cute small ones...

Well we’ve put an offer in on a house
More to follow I hope.
What a place. As soon as the wife walked in the kitchen it was all over

British White - an endangered breed… Nearly as “kicky” as a Belted Galloway…Count Steer wrote: Fri Oct 31, 2025 4:48 pmBe a big place if she wants them indoors.MrLongbeard wrote: Thu Oct 30, 2025 11:13 amThink yourself lucky, my other half wants us to find a gaff big enough to have a couple of Belted Galloways roaming around :fml: I'd settle for a couple of pictures any dayweeksy wrote: Thu Oct 30, 2025 10:23 am 2. I've been told (more than once) that I can't buy the large wooden letters at HobbyLobby and put "LEAVE" above the front door...Taipan wrote: Thu Oct 30, 2025 10:21 am Yes, with funny sayings on, and i cant think of one of them despite having a few around the place!

I knew someone with a front door mat that said 'Not You Again!' Maybe they make one that says 'Clear Off!'ZRX61 wrote: Mon Nov 03, 2025 4:31 amI've been told (more than once) that I can't buy the large wooden letters at HobbyLobby and put "LEAVE" above the front door...Taipan wrote: Thu Oct 30, 2025 10:21 am Yes, with funny sayings on, and i cant think of one of them despite having a few around the place!![]()
