Re: What have you done today thread?

Walked the dog, ran 11 kilometres in 81 minutes, scoffed calamari and pizza at Zizzi, took my ipad with a non-responsive screen to an Apple Genius who couldn't fix it. Whilst it appeared to be a software fault, a complete wipe and reload of operating system hasn't cleared the fault, let's hope the automated back up process has worked...

His suggestion was a like-for-like replacement for nearly £600 or upgrade to a new model, starting at circa £999... He's provided a report for my insurance but I reckon they'll decline the claim as he's recorded it as hardware failure / no damage which would likely look like wear and tear so wouldn't be covered and I'd likely end up paying more for my household insurance for years to come for the pleasure of claiming.

Currently looking at a contract with Sky for a new device as that looks to be the cheapest, interest-free, option and it appears I don't have to pay for a data package that I won't use (as is the case with the other usual suspects).

I am now about to light the log burner

Been for a pint in the Cottage of Content.

It's 2.6 miles walk from my house, and I've always wanted to go in, I pass it almost every day and the name always makes me smile.

Brian the cat departed just after 6am. (So says the CCTV, we were not up.)

Wondering if she'll return tonight - it's proper stormy out there (rain/wind).

Went and got some cat food for her today in case she comes back. Got our old cat's bed out for her too. We're therefore guaranteed to never see her again 😆

Finished spiffing the F350, off to the truck show in about 30 minutes. Taking both pups for their first big adventure. Not sure how that will work out.

Probably a risk of getting beaned by falling bits of cliff I'd guess!
The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'.

They offer you a donkey ride home if you twist your ankle.

The wife and I did it from top to bottom... she got to the bottom, sat in a bar, sparked up a cig, took a sip of her pint and passed out :)

Yeah that is how we did it. Bus took you up to the start then buggered off so you had to do it. I was looking on street view. They have put a proper road down now as it used to be a zig zag almost dirt track. The back of the coach would hang over the edge as it turned to go up

Truck show wasn't well attended, but it was the first one they held. Next one is Feb1st

Pupsters did ok for their first adventure/long drive/truck show/rock concert, so that's a plus.. altho the band sucked.

Stopped by the local brewery on the way home for a quick sherbert, that place is dog central. Some guy walked in with FOUR Belgy Malinois... He had his hands full.

I do stupid long hours at the weekend, very very long yesterday (finished at 10pm :o)!! And in amongst the pauses, a mate text me to say he'd arrived in resort and when was I next there!!

Luckily, todays driving took me up to resort, then a long pause and go back to bring the same peeps down - sooooo, I checked with the boss and parked the coach in resort, went and had lots of coffee and catch up with my mate and then drove back cos, yay, my wages arrived, so I filled up the car and did a small shop :) :) :)

Got to go back to work for 4pm so I can get back to resort by 4.55 !!

They are generally nice at work on things like hours - generally :) :)

and yesterday, painting the small bedroom. Just white emulsion but I hate it with a vengeance. So much mess, cleaning up, moving stuff, paint drops on carpet, angry wife, I fcuking hate it.

Anyway, done now. 🥳👍🏻

Sky were going to put my SIM cards up so I got on to them.

They actually dropped the price to 5 quid each and increased the data plan from 4 to 10 GB

Result.

Sim only contract with ID Mobile. Unlimited Data, Text and calls for £17 per month. They use the Three network as so far so good with coverage.

Just finished clearing out the garage after months of putting it off. Found a box of old photos I forgot existed. Feels good to actually see the floor again.

Brian the visiting cat returned. Looks like she might be spending the night again.
Wondering if she'll hang around long enough for a vet microchip check this time, seeing as it's a weekday...
