His suggestion was a like-for-like replacement for nearly £600 or upgrade to a new model, starting at circa £999... He's provided a report for my insurance but I reckon they'll decline the claim as he's recorded it as hardware failure / no damage which would likely look like wear and tear so wouldn't be covered and I'd likely end up paying more for my household insurance for years to come for the pleasure of claiming.
Currently looking at a contract with Sky for a new device as that looks to be the cheapest, interest-free, option and it appears I don't have to pay for a data package that I won't use (as is the case with the other usual suspects).
