I pay fee's for it to be managed, there's no way I could do it, couldn't be arsed tbh. They buy and sell all the time. It's diversified over different investments and I just check the numbers. I know not a lot about the game in all honesty.
It might possibly be a fingers crossed game, but so far so good. If it all goes tits up I'll get the Mrs to wiggle her toes on only fans.

I did a rough calculation but worried about my maffs.
I make it *wiggles wet finger in air* about 30%. Not too shabby.
Just out of interest, the trackers mentioned up there ^^^ were invested when ISAs were PEPs and in all that time they've doubled*, so last year has been pretty spectacular.
I was particularly pleased with GSK though. It's been a bit of a dog, although a substantial drop in share price was when they split out their retail side - as Haleon iirc - which I promptly sold and bought something else.
* It's a fraction of what it was though as I spent most of it in the 5 years between quitting work and my main pension kicking in and on home and garden 'improvements'.

My own account has grown 22.55% in last 12 months. And I can live with that!

I'm quite frankly staggered by the way my stocks and shares ISA has performed over the previous year. In Feb 2025 my portfolio's value stood at £71,000 and didn't move much in the next two months, but has ended the 12 months since valued at not far short of £102,000. To be fair this has mainly been due to the share price of the major component of the ISA (HSBC) basically doubling in 12 months.
I can't claim any real credit for this - but every so often you just get lucky, I guess...

Yes it’s been a good year for that sort of thing.
You can claim credit for having an S&S ISA. Lots of pickers and choosers of individual stocks have lost money in the same year.

I paid my bonus in today directly to pension, it'll be part of the amount i take out in Oct at 55, so made sense to pay it directly in now and not have to pay the 40% tax this month on it

Downside to choosing to do a job you love, rather than one that pays better, is my pension is valued accordingly. Good job we only have beer tastes to match our beer money!

Happy to post the 5 year graph of Vodaphone, which I bought 4 or 5 years ago. They looked pretty sick last year!
(But I bought some more when they were bumping along the bottom, so overall they don't look too bad now....provided they don't go down at the same rate they went up.
TBF the dividends have been quite good).

2019......late July early August my missus was getting calls from China ......is their anything in the English press about a virus in China
I think covid was in the uk early November 2019
In 2003 , when SAR’s came along, I had been living and working in China for more than 7 years
It’s thought but not confirmed ,man a choffed a civit cat bought from a live market
The sars virus was tracked down to have come from a Guangdong province
Specifically
Zhongshan and foshan
Guess where I lived
